Want to know more about what to expect from the 2026 Ford Escape? Here’s everything we know about this upcoming compact crossover so far!
Yes! However, the 2026 Ford Escape will be the last of its kind. So if you want a great price on a sporty, people-pleasing compact SUV, don’t wait to order yours. The upcoming model will most likely be very similar to last year’s SUV. In other words, the new Escape will deliver a comfy, high-tech cabin and smooth-yet-sporty performance.
The final Escape will be available as six trim models: Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, Platinum, and PHEV. With so many options, there’s a little something for everyone! With the Active, you can enjoy the Escape’s incredible standard lineup (including dual-zone automatic climate control and a power liftgate) at a great price.
All three ST-Line models add rugged upgrades (like underbody skid plates and roof rails) and sporty styling (with a flat-bottom steering wheel and red accent stitching). And moving up the list — from ST-Line to ST-Line Elite — means more and more luxury features! Where the ST-Line Select adds one-touch power windows and heated front seats, the ST-Line adds still more luxury, including driver’s seat memory settings and a wireless smartphone charging pad.
The Escape’s Platinum and PHEV trim models are both very luxurious options. The Platinum treats you to soft, leather-like ActiveX upholstery, adaptive cruise control, LED headlamps, and more. Along with its exclusive plug-in hybrid performance, the Escape PHEV delivers cushy comfort — with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and vinyl-trimmed seats.
Depending on which Escape trim model you select, there are four engine options available. The PHEV and optional hybrid powertrains are the thriftiest options, helping you earn up to 40 mpg combined. Meanwhile, the ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum deliver the most thrills, with the Escape’s most powerful engine option.All-wheel drive is widely available and makes a great addition to your wintry Michigan drive!
Escape Powertrain Options
Beginning September 8, you’ll be able to order gas- and PHEV-powered Escape models at your local Ford dealer! If you’re pining for the hybrid powertrain (optional for the ST-Line and up), you’ll need to wait a little while longer. Ford hasn’t announced when order banks open for the hybrid Escape. However, it has put a cap on hybrid Escape production, so make sure you put your order in as soon as they do!
Ford revealed the fate of the Escape earlier this month, when the automaker announced plans for its all-new midsize electric truck. This modern “Model T” will run on battery power alone, but unlike most EVs, it’ll also come at a very budget-friendly price. Since Ford plans to assemble this new electric pickup at its Louisville plant, the Escape and Lincoln Corsair are retiring to create space for production.
We are excited for the Ford Escape to get one last hurrah before it’s officially retired. Stay tuned for more information from Lunghamer Ford.
