What’s new for the 2026 Ford Ranger?
We’re getting ready for the 2026 Ford Ranger! After a full redesign for the 2024 model year, we don’t expect any major updates. What we do expect from this midsize truck, however, is outstanding off-roading capabilities, your choice of turbocharged V6 engines, and best-in-class tech features! Oh, and did we mention a surprisingly comfortable ride?
Will there be a 2026 Ford Ranger Hybrid?
A Ford Ranger plug-in hybrid truck exists — we just have our doubts about whether it’ll ever be available for US drivers. The Ranger PHEV is available in Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, where it treats drivers to a thrifty hybrid performance, 28-mile electric driving range and 443 pound-feet of torque!
Back in the States, it’s more likely that the 2026 Ford Ranger will be available with the same three engines it offered for 2025. Most trim models will probably come standard with the tried-and-true turbocharged EcoBoost engine (270 horsepower). The mid-level XLT and upscale Lariat trims will probably be available with the twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6 (315 hp). Then there’s the rugged Ranger Raptor, which will most likely feature an exclusive twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 (405 hp)!
What’s the 2026 Ford Ranger Super Duty?
Unfortunately, the Ranger Super Duty is another incarnation of the Ranger that probably won’t be available in the US. But never say never! Debuting for 2026, this small-but-muscular truck is designed for Australians. Unlike Americans, who tend to like their trucks big and beefy, drivers down under want their Super Duty powertrains in a midsize truck. Compared to the regular Ranger’s 6,790-pound GVW, the Ranger Super Duty can move more weight, with a GVW of 9,920 pounds!
When can I order the 2026 Ford Ranger?
