2022 Ford Edge vs Nissan Rogue

2022 Ford Edge vs Nissan Rogue

The 2022 Ford Edge and Nissan Rogue both offer their fair share of creature comforts and tech features. And both of these modern crossover SUVs are known for their sporty capabilities. But which of these crossovers is right for you? Let our comparison be your guide!

Lowest Price: 2022 Nissan Rogue

As a small crossover, the Rogue costs less than the midsize Edge. The entry-level Rogue starts at $26,700. The midsize 2022 Ford Edge, on the other hand, has a starting price tag of $35,395.

Let’s take a closer look at what each crossover gives you for your money.

Spacious Comfort: 2022 Ford Edge

2022 Ford Edge Interior

As a midsize crossover, the Edge is the roomier option. Although it gives you a few extra inches of shoulder space up front, the rear seats are where you’ll really notice a difference. Compared to the Rogue’s rear seats, the Edge offers more leg, head, hip, and shoulder room. The Edge’s cargo hold also hosts a lot more space for your weekend bags and beach gear, with 39.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats (the Rogue offers 31.6 cubic feet of cargo space).

On the other hand, both the Edge and the Rogue offer a wealth of luxury features. Each crossover comes in a variety of trim levels, letting you add the comfort features you care to pay for, such as leather upholstery and heated seats.

Power & Performance: 2022 Ford Edge

2022 Ford Edge On The Road

The Edge not only offers more power, but it also gives you more options. Choose from two Edge powertrains:

  • 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine (250 horsepower, 280 lb-ft of torque) + eight-speed automatic transmission
  • 2.7L turbo V6 (335 hp, 380 lb-ft) + seven-speed automatic

And the 2022 Edge now comes standard with Ford’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, which senses slippage and powers all four wheels accordingly. It’s great for wintery roads or the occasional foray down an off-road trail.

All four Nissan Rogue trim models feature the same powertrain, a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine (201 hp, 255 lb-ft) that’s paired with a continuously variable transmission. Although it doesn’t come standard with all-wheel drive, you can add this traction-boosting performance technology as an option. You’ll notice, however, that the Rogue doesn’t give you nearly as much power as the Ford Edge.

Towing Capacity

If you’ve got a boat or small camper at home, the 2022 Ford Edge is the better option. Depending on equipment and powertrain, Ford’s midsize crossover SUV can tow up to 3,500 pounds. The 2022 Nissan Rogue can handle a small watercraft, like a Jet Ski, with max tow ratings of 1,500 pounds.

Your New Crossover SUV

The 2022 Nissan Rogue is a thrifty little crossover, but it can’t compare to the 2022 Ford Edge’s sporty capabilities and rich interior comfort. Choose the Edge for the most in fun-loving family adventure.
